By private car (highly recommended is 4x4 or a trail motorcycle) coming from San Jose or the north follow the INTERAMERICANA toward PANAMA.
Turn right at CHACARITA (34 kms. south of PALMAR NORTE). From here all the surroundings are a Natural Reserve.
At RINCON, 44 kms. from CHACARITA , take the road to DRAKE, before crossing the old iron bridge. From there, leave behind paved roads and drive carefully and enjoy the surroundings and varied fauna and flora.
We recommend this option during the dry season. During the rainy season we would strongly advise you to call and check the state of the roads before choosing this option.
For the very adventurous this same route could be done on bike by those in excellent physical condition.
